The Weight of self-Belief

A pawn is small on the chess board,

An easy link to underestimate

He trains to move one step at a time,

___ to dream beyond the room

But self-Belief is honest.

It exposes what rules try to hide

Beneath the illusion of reality

He stretches his bones

too bold to reach heights

a king rising from belief alone.

He holds his crown in his steps.

He wears it solely in his heart every move he takes

Power is not always granted.

It comes from a place of thoughts

The engine of the soul pictures it

the destiny that lies beneath

The ability to stand ground with kings

People who try to take him out early.

Comes from the place of faith

Barriers, obstacles (shakles and pain)

Still—

he moves forward.

Because destiny doesn’t start

when you arrive at the throne,

it starts the moment

you refuse to see yourself as a pawn

But rather picture the king in you

Wearing that golden crown.

We have seen the promise come to life

A promise once written by the hands of the psalmists

Who wrote songs and in the words of the prophets become flesh before our eyes.

The heaven’s promise sent to earth—

The Promised One ___ finally arrived

In the month of December, Christ Jesus came to earth

He abandoned the majesty and the glory of heaven

He left his father’s palace to be born in a dirt

He dropped his robes of glory for the mortal body of an infant?

On the night he’s was born, the stars glorified his names

He came to earth and lived among the mortals

The deaf heard the harmony of morning birds once again

The lame walked the grounds of the earth once again

The blind saw the beauty of his creation once again

And dead rose to life once again in his glory

He came to rebuild the bond once broken in the Garden of Eden

And all the glory came upon him in the garden of Gethsemane

He came to make true the words of prophets

To meet the lost and the sinners

To comfort those surrounded by death and grief

He came because you were in great despair—

In need of salvation

And restoration of His’ nation

He laid in a trough no comfort for a King,

He, Jesus is the Royalty without a ring

He’s the salvation the creator came to bring

From the manger to the cross, to the tomb and to the sky

He ascended to heaven — a story of profound love

Of a Savior who rebuilt his lost Kingdom

A blameless King who declared no sacrifice too great

For the sake of His beloved creation

He bore the pain of the cross ___

His last breath so that we could receive

The eternal breath of life

Our holy, infinite God beheld your pain

For in his pure heart your soul was worth dying for.

He bore our shame, our fear, our suffering—

So we could be free in a free world

He came to walk the earth, to suffer, to die, to rise—

And to love you with a love so profound

That eternity itself could not contain

Untold Tale of Survival

These feet, cracked like dry rocky earth

that once pleaded to the sky for rain to pour from up the blue,

carry an unacknowledged history of survival.

Each crack tells a road walked,

Each wound carries a weight of memory invisible in the hearts of men

Dust has found comfort in them,

and pain has made a home and dwells in them

But still— they move.

They rise when the morning sun pours its wrath on them

They march through places where hope is buried in the deep ends of the earth

And strength is the only seed that's left of its kind.

These feet have known the heat of long days long gone,

The heat of gravel is a silent agony nobody knows.

They have walked through storms of life

without asking for applause or pity.

Call them names and things

But don’t miss the truth they bear

They belong to someone who refuses to submit to the threats of failure.

And sometimes, survival itself

is the most sacred poetry these feet can sing on their victory day, for they have survived the storm.

The Fantasy World We Created

Sometimes I feel broken down into fragments,
future that cannot mend.
I feel myself slipping into a dark void,
into an abyss yesterday created.

I am all grown up now, and mysteries
unravel in the face of reality.
What seemed doomed has gained life,
and buried mistakes have taken a toll on me—
a hard revenge against what we created.

What our hands created—a thing we called ours,
because we partook in making it—
a co-creation that became
a gazette desert of nightmares and hallucinations,
things of a demonic fantasy world.

I now dream of spring fields,
summer chaos,
the ninth of July,
and all we meant when we said we loved each other—
which was all a lie.

I still imagine how you’d knot my tie,
or prepare an apple pie for breakfast.
How we joked we’d die if we weren’t together,
how you’d cry on your bed at night
because I couldn’t be there to cuddle you till morning.
And yet, you hoped everything would be alright.

I was too frail, lost in daydreams,
too blinded by your love.
Your beautiful eyes made me a puppet
when you stared into my soul.
I felt magic all over me.
I felt love.
I got lost in your world of fantasy—
where you held me frozen with your angelic touch,
the melody on your sweet lips.

How could I not see?
How could I fail to see the world through an angle of sanity?
How could I not realize that all was vanity?
The world we created was never meant to be.

How could I not hear
the reverse of the songs we danced to,
the betrayal behind the kiss in the rain?
How could I not realize
we were just living in a fantasy world we created

The New Reality: Fragmented Markets and Shifting Priorities

Economic uncertainty doesn’t impact all businesses equally. Some sectors may be booming while others struggle. In between lies a vast “messy middle” of companies navigating unpredictable terrain. Sales teams must think beyond surface-level indicators and dive deep into individual account realities.

The impact of this fragmentation is profound. Buyer circumstances evolve quickly. A proposal submitted six months ago may no longer be relevant. Budget freezes, leadership changes, or sudden market shifts can invalidate previously enthusiastic conversations.

This demands a methodical reevaluation of pipeline opportunities to assess current viability.

Begin by refining your ideal client profile (ICP). Who are your highest-probability targets now—not just historically, but in today’s market conditions?

Leadership must support this with real-time account targeting adjustments. Many sales professionals work from a fixed book of accounts, but in volatile times, those lists need reexamination. Aim your focus where success is most likely.

Why Proactivity is the New Currency of Sales Success

In unpredictable times, proactivity is essential. Sales professionals cannot afford to operate on autopilot, recycling old tactics or waiting for customers to reach out. Instead, they must actively engage clients to understand what has changed, what matters most now, and how to align solutions with new priorities.

A simple yet powerful habit is the 30/10 planning approach:

Spend 30 minutes at the start of each week identifying your key priorities.

Spend 10 minutes each day making progress on those priorities. This structure keeps sales people intentional, especially when stress and distractions are high.

But proactivity isn’t just about activity—it’s about curiosity and insight.

Imagine a sales professional revisiting an old opportunity and saying, “We know we proposed this solution last quarter, but a lot has changed. Can we revisit the proposal to lower your risk or improve the outcome given today’s circumstances?”

That approach shows understanding, initiative, and a focus on client success—not just closing a deal.

Understanding Shifting Buyer Behavior

Today’s buyers are more risk-averse, more consensus- driven, and more skeptical than ever. Decision cycles are slower, buying groups are larger, and trust is increasingly the deciding factor.

As a result, sales professionals must pivot from pitching to becoming trusted advisors who help buyers navigate uncertainty.

Equally important is how you engage. High-pressure tactics—like artificial deadlines or one-sided terms—may momentarily boost numbers, but they erode long-term trust. And when trust goes down, deals disappear. The most successful salespeople are those who can balance urgency with consideration and who prioritize the customer’s win alongside their own.

Rebuild The Dream Home

Today being a national of happiness where we celebrate freedom

and independence as a sovereign nation, I ask the question,

What good is independence without peace?

What good is freedom without justice?

Today we reflect on how far we have come

From genesis to revelation of the nemesis of the past

From shackles and pains, hands numbed by the manacles of slavery

From infants of war born amidst crisis to this destiny, this country,

this independence we celebrate today.

From chemical gases, gun powders and bombs falling from the sky like rain

on innocent children and women.

     –––––we say we have survived

This was home, this is home

and this is what we have become.

We have normalized wars, yet we pay the price of the blood we shed

We pay the price of the property we destroy.

From past of oneness to bitter hatred for a brother

Peace, joy, glory in unity and harmony

and this is what we have become.

We image home running to seek refuge in the neighboring countries

For home is a rotting ground where birds squat and scavenge on the flesh

of our beloved mothers, sisters, brothers and our dear fathers.

Home is an unimaginable state of clashes, segregation, tribalism and corruption.

This is home, this is the independence we celebrate today

when the month of July lies to us that we are free.

We still carry the blood of our innocent mothers claimed by the war

The legacy, the vision of our forefathers whose blood cemented the foundation

to the freedom and independence of this nation. But yet the foundation that was laid

is now a warring zone.

So there must be more

There must be more. (more foundations to build again,

more to build again).  More to change, more to build again

In the words of Dr. John Garang,

“There will be no more bombs falling from the sky

on innocent children and women, instead of the cries and wailing of women,

peace will bless us once more with hearing of happy giggling of children and

enchanting ululation of women who are excited in happiness for the joy of independence”.

This is the independence we want, the dream and the promised Canaan

We are the leaders ordained from above the blue sky to reclaim the past of oneness

That was broken and buried beneath the dark shadows of segregation, tribalism and wars

We are the leaders to build on the foundation that was laid by our forefathers

Until all this is said and done, until peace reigns and justice flows like the Nile,
Until the past of oneness is our present again, only then,
Only then shall we say —Happy Independence Day, South Sudan.

Voice of the Wailer

I heard a voice crying aloud from ashes of a home settled soot—

a wailing soul, tormented, ravaged by a holocaust of storms
that swept beneath the red soil soaked in the blood of the innocent.

I heard yet another voice, and yet another.
A soft, lamenting cry of home to
rn by grief

her broken vocal cords screamed as she drowned in her own sea
of tears and blood— from her womb, her veins, her veins of pain.

Her own son—slain and the bones of what use to be

her own daughter dried at the bay.

Then came another voice from the South calling out my name
"Son, son, son... save me!"

I saw her lying on the ground and birds circling above—
ready to feast on her flesh.
–––– she was my mother.
(my motherland, South Sudan).

An amputated widow trying to climb the Kilimanjaro,
––––swim the Nile that took her daughters;
daring the bushes that swallowed her husband; the shameless ground,
that’s never satisfied with the blood of her own.

Procrastination: Ending procrastination in 2025

As a computer enthusiast, you open your design software, writing app or your workspace, fully ready to create something productive. But first, you need “inspiration" to start the work. One hour, two hours three hours and there you are, you’ve done everything else except the thing you actually wanted to do at that particular time. That is the disease called procrastination.

According to the Oxford dictionary, procrastination:  Refers to an act of delaying something you should usually because you do not want to do it or it's boring.

Differences between Laziness and Procrastination

Laziness, indolence, or sloth should not be confused with procrastination. To procrastinate which means, ‘to forward to tomorrow’ in Latin is to postpone a task in favor of other tasks which are less taxing but also less important or urgent.

To postpone a task for practical or strategic purposes does not amount to procrastination; for a postponement to amount to procrastination, it has to represent poor and ineffective planning, and result in a higher overall cost to the procrastinator.

For example, it’s one thing to delay a tax return until all the numbers are in, but quite another to delay it so that it ruins our holiday or lands us with a fine.

Both the lazybones and the procrastinators lack motivation. But unlike the lazy person, the procrastinator aspires or intends to complete the task, and, moreover, eventually does—albeit at a higher overall cost to him- or her-self.

Consequences of chronic procrastination

Cross-sectional studies suggest that procrastination is associated with symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress as well as loneliness and reduced life satisfaction

Procrastination is also associated with prevalent general physical health problems like cardiovascular disease and unhealthy lifestyle behaviors

Productivity and performance impact like missed deadlines and reduced quality of work

Damage to trust and credibility as a person you lose your worth and public admiration due to not being able to attend to importance assignments.

Why you need to get rid of procrastination in 2025?

Productivity and goal achievement: Have you ever been in a situation where you regret having taken long to or not doing it at well. Well, that is why you should plan and implement

Mental Health and Well-being: For you to be free from stress, anxiety and pressure which can affect one in one way or the other. You have to stop postponing tasks for tomorrow that never comes

Making The Most Of Opportunities: Some opportunities avail themselves in narrow and restrict times but that is the way of life one should get used to being prepared for any opportunity and grab with both hands

Developing Self-Discipline and Self-Control: Imagine being in class knowing you have done your homework and your classmates haven't done it and bomb the teacher asks for the work. How confident you'd be!. That is the same thing. Do your work in time.

Why Do We Procrastinate?

Temporal Discounting

Fear of Failure

Lack of Motivation

 Task Aversion

 Low Self-Control or Executive Dysfunction

To get rid of procrastination practice these principles:

Break your tasks at hand into Smaller Steps that can be achieved at a particular time frame

The 5-Minute Rule: Is a simple strategy for overcoming procrastination by committing to work on a task for just five minutes. After the five minutes you can decide if you want to continue with the task or stop.

Time Blocking: In this case you divide your day into specific task at a particular time

Pomodoro Technique: Work for twenty five minutes rest for five minutes and vice versa through out they day

Remove Distractions: Things that distract you should be far away from you like phones, computers  among others

Self-Compassion: Be calm. Composed and self-motivated to do the work with an alacritous heart

Try one technique today and comment and share your progress. Invite readers to reflect on their habits as we move this journey together.

More Than Roses

Today isn't just a day — a day about couples and candlelight,

It’s about love in all forms

So I’m speaking tonight.

Not with chocolates or flowers

Wrapped in a bow under my elbow

But with words, majestic rhymes

Words only my pillow

Had heard me speak them in my mind
Sing them with a heart that's hollow

‘Cause real love is deeper

‘You know.

Deeper with words more and more

than materials can tell you, show you

What it means to love perfectly

Love one so dearly, unconditionally

You ___my ride-or-die

You ____my partner-in-crime,

The one who shows up, no matter the time, line or dime

Through late night conversation

And laughter so loud,

You shine on your own

You don’t need a crowd.

Nor a crown to fit in my heart

Forget the clichรฉ of a Valentine’s date;
you are more than date and fate

____you’re something great.

My love for you is never lost

Like lost in the mist,

'Cause you're more than a sister

You are love, love for life

Just look at the list

This scroll inside my heart

It's all written with my blood

That it's you and no one else

You love dearly with your words,

your kindness so overwhelming and your mind,

You love wholeheartedly

With you might so real, So refined — so divine _

A commander who only sees you in his rare view

But not the whole you

Is like a general who has lost a battalion

because your are so precious

So tonight, a night of love

Loneliness and waiting around are of a gone tale,

Perhaps fantasy of a dead Cupid to you my darling

Because you're already a queen

My beautiful queen,

Give me the honor of crowning you

To be the star above the skies let me anoint you

—with my blood from my precious veins

Let me anoint you with my words from my purest heart

And affectionate love

From my deepest feelings

And if the world ever tries you

Through pain and tribulations

To make you forget

The crown on your head

______ Remember, I got you
So be beside me and let's ride through thick and thin

Through the storms and waves

So I am here to you no roses nor rings things—

No poses nor sing just real love from your best friend,

My king-to-queen thing be happy tonight

Be loved for life
