She tiptoed through the backyard of the barn,
Deep in the middle of the night.
Moonlight illuminated the whole space,
As nature sang its songs.
She held my hands with her soft palms,
Her eyes shone like the morning star.
A gleeful sparkle put the dark
into sparkling flames of love.
We danced —
danced through the endless night.
Her skin shone bright,
Her radiant face like the sunset.
She was a glowworm in the night,
An angel, the giver of light.
Like an angel, she flew —
flew with glowing beings of the night.
flew — flew away like a rope-less kite
into the twilight zone
& Never returned
never came back
where she belonged
she faded like a shooting star
lightning— disappeared
gone — faded away
now I dance with her shadows
memories of our night cuddles
