Voice of the Wailer

I heard a voice crying aloud from ashes of a home settled soot—

a wailing soul, tormented, ravaged by a holocaust of storms
that swept beneath the red soil soaked in the blood of the innocent.

I heard yet another voice, and yet another.
A soft, lamenting cry of home to
rn by grief

her broken vocal cords screamed as she drowned in her own sea
of tears and blood— from her womb, her veins, her veins of pain.

Her own son—slain and the bones of what use to be

her own daughter dried at the bay.

Then came another voice from the South calling out my name
"Son, son, son... save me!"

I saw her lying on the ground and birds circling above—
ready to feast on her flesh.
–––– she was my mother.
(my motherland, South Sudan).

An amputated widow trying to climb the Kilimanjaro,
––––swim the Nile that took her daughters;
daring the bushes that swallowed her husband; the shameless ground,
that’s never satisfied with the blood of her own.

Procrastination: Ending procrastination in 2025

As a computer enthusiast, you open your design software, writing app or your workspace, fully ready to create something productive. But first, you need “inspiration" to start the work. One hour, two hours three hours and there you are, you’ve done everything else except the thing you actually wanted to do at that particular time. That is the disease called procrastination.

According to the Oxford dictionary, procrastination:  Refers to an act of delaying something you should usually because you do not want to do it or it's boring.

Differences between Laziness and Procrastination

Laziness, indolence, or sloth should not be confused with procrastination. To procrastinate which means, ‘to forward to tomorrow’ in Latin is to postpone a task in favor of other tasks which are less taxing but also less important or urgent.

To postpone a task for practical or strategic purposes does not amount to procrastination; for a postponement to amount to procrastination, it has to represent poor and ineffective planning, and result in a higher overall cost to the procrastinator.

For example, it’s one thing to delay a tax return until all the numbers are in, but quite another to delay it so that it ruins our holiday or lands us with a fine.

Both the lazybones and the procrastinators lack motivation. But unlike the lazy person, the procrastinator aspires or intends to complete the task, and, moreover, eventually does—albeit at a higher overall cost to him- or her-self.

Consequences of chronic procrastination

Cross-sectional studies suggest that procrastination is associated with symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress as well as loneliness and reduced life satisfaction

Procrastination is also associated with prevalent general physical health problems like cardiovascular disease and unhealthy lifestyle behaviors

Productivity and performance impact like missed deadlines and reduced quality of work

Damage to trust and credibility as a person you lose your worth and public admiration due to not being able to attend to importance assignments.

Why you need to get rid of procrastination in 2025?

Productivity and goal achievement: Have you ever been in a situation where you regret having taken long to or not doing it at well. Well, that is why you should plan and implement

Mental Health and Well-being: For you to be free from stress, anxiety and pressure which can affect one in one way or the other. You have to stop postponing tasks for tomorrow that never comes

Making The Most Of Opportunities: Some opportunities avail themselves in narrow and restrict times but that is the way of life one should get used to being prepared for any opportunity and grab with both hands

Developing Self-Discipline and Self-Control: Imagine being in class knowing you have done your homework and your classmates haven't done it and bomb the teacher asks for the work. How confident you'd be!. That is the same thing. Do your work in time.

Why Do We Procrastinate?

Temporal Discounting

Fear of Failure

Lack of Motivation

 Task Aversion

 Low Self-Control or Executive Dysfunction

To get rid of procrastination practice these principles:

Break your tasks at hand into Smaller Steps that can be achieved at a particular time frame

The 5-Minute Rule: Is a simple strategy for overcoming procrastination by committing to work on a task for just five minutes. After the five minutes you can decide if you want to continue with the task or stop.

Time Blocking: In this case you divide your day into specific task at a particular time

Pomodoro Technique: Work for twenty five minutes rest for five minutes and vice versa through out they day

Remove Distractions: Things that distract you should be far away from you like phones, computers  among others

Self-Compassion: Be calm. Composed and self-motivated to do the work with an alacritous heart

More Than Roses

Today isn't just a day — a day about couples and candlelight,

It’s about love in all forms

So I’m speaking tonight.

Not with chocolates or flowers

Wrapped in a bow under my elbow

But with words, majestic rhymes

Words only my pillow

Had heard me speak them in my mind
Sing them with a heart that's hollow

‘Cause real love is deeper

‘You know.

Deeper with words more and more

than materials can tell you, show you

What it means to love perfectly

Love one so dearly, unconditionally

You ___my ride-or-die

You ____my partner-in-crime,

The one who shows up, no matter the time, line or dime

Through late night conversation

And laughter so loud,

You shine on your own

You don’t need a crowd.

Nor a crown to fit in my heart

Forget the cliché of a Valentine’s date;
you are more than date and fate

____you’re something great.

My love for you is never lost

Like lost in the mist,

'Cause you're more than a sister

You are love, love for life

Just look at the list

This scroll inside my heart

It's all written with my blood

That it's you and no one else

You love dearly with your words,

your kindness so overwhelming and your mind,

You love wholeheartedly

With you might so real, So refined — so divine _

A commander who only sees you in his rare view

But not the whole you

Is like a general who has lost a battalion

because your are so precious

So tonight, a night of love

Loneliness and waiting around are of a gone tale,

Perhaps fantasy of a dead Cupid to you my darling

Because you're already a queen

My beautiful queen,

Give me the honor of crowning you

To be the star above the skies let me anoint you

—with my blood from my precious veins

Let me anoint you with my words from my purest heart

And affectionate love

From my deepest feelings

And if the world ever tries you

Through pain and tribulations

To make you forget

The crown on your head

______ Remember, I got you
So be beside me and let's ride through thick and thin

Through the storms and waves

So I am here to you no roses nor rings things—

No poses nor sing just real love from your best friend,

My king-to-queen thing be happy tonight

Be loved for life

Mother nature's Cry

As the machines roar louder like thunders and

the skies turn dark with smoke,

have we stopped to ask,

what about the animals?

what about mother nature?

This is a letter from the reminder

When stars in the sky dim

in the chill of a cold night,

and the dew, the breath of greens  dries,

the tears of a vine

  ___bitter than fermented vinegar,

dread the evaporating soil

the loam, sand and clay.

From O₂ to the Ozone

CO, CO₂, Ozone

over and over again,

do you feel the pain?

But I hear Mother Nature crying,

" What about the animals?,

   What about the chirping angels?,

    What about mother nature?"
